Ian's Parachute Jump -
16 November 2003
On Saturday 15 November 2003, my mad brother-in-law,
Ian Wood did his tandem parachute jump to raise funds for York Blind and
Partially Sighted Society.
Here are photos from the event. These pictures
are big. If you are on a slow connection, get broadband, it's much
better (feel free to click on my referrer on the left!). To play the
movies, you will probably need Microsoft MediaPlayer 9.
Click on the thumbnails for the enormous version.
Here
is Ian, ready to go....Look mum, no nerves at all!
a
light snack
and
another
and
another!
The
waiting is too much for some!
Finally,
the wind has dropped and the plane is out
NOTE
TO MYSELF, must remember to refuel the plane....
...otherwise
this happens!
The
first jump of the day, Helen takes off
There
she goes!
Here
she comes!
Splat!
The
light is failing, does Ian have enough time to jump? Of course he does!
The
plane is readied
The
specatators gather
Here
comes the hero of the moment, shame about the colour!
As
he mounts his trusty stead, a brief photo opportunity
And
he's off (movie)
Tally
ho, bee's wax leader out! (movie)
Here
come the pro's...
...ready
to catch Ian
And
here comes Ian himself (movie)
Houston,
the eagle has landed
This
is one small step for man, one giant leap for Ian Wood!
The
hero returns
I
think he enjoyed it!
The
perfect end to the (almost) perfect day.
....And
the proof!
And then we went home.
